Last Sunday of October

Hello my Zenful blog readers. How are you all on this last Sunday of October? How was your week and your weekend? Work as it should be was busy. Our busiest time of year begins next week so I am sure I will be smudging extra for myself. =) I'm also in birthday celebration mode for my youngest which is next week.

This is a tree that is in my backyard. I love the colors of the leaves that swayed this breezy last Sunday of October. The weather today wasn't as cold as it's been these past few days. This next picture will be a testiment of what a lovely bright day it is.
It was in the 50s earlier today. How was the weather in your last Sunday of October? (Do u see the smile in the clouds?)

But before we celebrate her born day. We are all celebrating,... can you guess????
              All Hallows' Eve.
Ooooooooo scary. BOOOOOO!!! :)

This Thursday as you know is Halloween day. I do enjoy Halloween. Do you? We've had that great opportunity to live in an area where the neighbors have carved and light candles in the pumpkins that they've all have lined up on their steps. All so festive. With the heavy scent of pumpkin in the air. We also have a few houses who join forces by decorating their homes and coordinating scariness. It's great. I even remember as a kid, growing up, there would be a guy wearing a weird mask with hair also; kind of Michael Meyerish but not really. He had hands and feet that weren't normal lol. He had two girls with him. "Making sure he wouldn't wonder off." But he'd always try to walk close to you and try to grab you but never touch you. As the two girls called after him, "Oswald come back. Leave the kids alone." Haha. The older kids loved it. The younger kids and their parents knew not to go over to that side. Good scary a$$ times. HAHA Are you all ready for this Halloween? The way our house is perched, somewhat on a hill we don't have any trick or treaters. And by the time we return home from trick or treating ourselves the streets become quiet from mini princesses and or zombies. I've added a link about Hallowen.

Thought it would be a great idea to read about its history.
http://www.history.com/topics/halloween

I know there are some people that do not celebrate Halloween. They may feel it's against their religion. And to each their own, is what I always say. I personally feel that Hallowen is a day that one can dress up and be silly or scary even let go of the seriousness of life. I don't, however, understand why people wouldn't celebrate it, in some form. Halloween is also another day for us to celebrate those that may have passed away. Whether having a framed picture of your loved one(s) that have passed away and have candles lit and or even make a meal and drink wine with positive words and stories about the one being remembered. Yes, it's devastating when one passes away,.....but once the pain has passed, it's always nice to remember them too. Make it a celebration of his or her life. Honor that person by making the foods and sweets that that person liked maybe. Even drink wines, or beers that they may have enjoyed. Celebrate safely of course.

As I have mentioned before sometimes life in general can be hectic and suck our energy. Whether its being, a mother, father, wife, husband, son, daughter, family and friends, work. Smudging helps me recharge my low energy.

There can be other ways that we can recharge our low energy. We need to remember to do something for us, as an individual. Take a few moments for yourself. No matter where that moment may be. Take those few mins to appreciate an connect with nature.

Do you have the opportunity to work with in the field of the aviation industry, if you have that down time which we all have. Maybe the hours aren't your regular 9-5 and you've had the opportunity to see many sun rises. No two are alike in their beautiful colors awaking us with a new day. The earth is also showing you a beauty like no other. Your eyes are the first to see its dawn.
Or maybe your work is somewhere close to the docks. Where your surrounded by the ocean all day. Is there ever a time that you can stop and look beyond the horizon and you breath in the ocean air. Have you stopped and enjoyed how the sun parts the fog on the bay?

Or what if you may have a lot on your mind and you need to take a walk. Is there a special place that you go to which helps clear your over active thoughts? Are you surrounded by hills, mountains, perhaps a lake, that may sooth you? Take all these elements in. Surround and surrounder yourself it's it's glory.

Let's use these visuals to get us into our Zenful place. I don't know about you but I'm ready for a good smudging to get us all ready for the week ahead. Hopefully you all have been drinking your water as you been reading the blog. Remember water is an element which we are mostly made of. Let's replenish ourselves. Let's begin with the opening smudge prayer...

I'd like to ask The Lord our Father  as well The Universe to be here with us today as I smudge & cleanse each of those that are reading this.

I'd like to also ask my ancestors to be present, as well as the elements earth, rain, wind, & fire to be here with us. I'd like to call on the goddess of the north, east, south & west. As well as our archangels Raphael for healing, Michael for protection, Gabriel for revelation & Uriel for wisdom.

Please release us all of any negative energy that does not suit or support our needs. Please Lord and Universe be here with us and help us during our time of needing healing, protection, revelation, and wisdom.

Please let us all have a drama free and great work week. Let our kids have a wonderful week at school and or day care. Please let all issues regarding friendships, spouses or family be resolved as they are meant to be. In a kind and peaceful manner.

Please see the sage smoke carry away all your worries and blow them away with the element wind, burn them away with the element fire, soak them away with the element water so that the element earth may ground you. Take these few minutes to visual this and clear this away......

Now for the Closing smudge prayer.
I'd like to thank you Lord and the Universe for giving me opportunity to share my Zenful experience with others. I want to thank my ancestors for being present. I'd like to also, thank the elements earth, rain, wind, & fire for being with us. I'd like to thank the goddess of the north, east, south & west. As well as our archangels Raphael for healing, Michael for protection, Gabriel for revelation & Uriel for wisdom.

Thank you Lord and Universe for always looking out for us and for giving us all the Blessings we have. Thank you for my yesterday, for my today and for the abundance of a wonderful week ahead.

I hope you all have a wonderful All Hallows' Eve week. Enjoy this time with your children and or family and friends.

~~Namaste~~

October's ~ Full Moon Weekend

Salutations my Zenful blog readers.
(Don't forget to drink water as you read this) How is everyone? How was you and your family's week and weekend? Mine was a busy, but, pleasant one. I did smudge this week for a google friend. I'm happy that my google friend felt the calming effects smudging can give, even all the way from the east to the west coast. :) good times.

And today along with sending positive smudging energy for us to ready us for the week ahead. I will also smudging extra for dear friend of mine who's in need. If I am able to help those that allow me to, why not. It feels good to help others if I am capable of helping them. Did you do anything to help anyone this week? It can be any kind of help. Whether it's helping with directions. At work, with a coworker and or with a friend or family?  I have a story that I know you all will enjoy. It definitely ranks Zenful for a little girl's life at this moment and for ever. A friend of mine took a young girl to get her hair did. :) This young girl's hair is very thick, coarse, unkept and cared for. :( Not in the best conditions. My friend took this young girl to the salon to have it washed, cut, and straighten. A spa hair day. The young girl was very nervous because she had never done anything like this. I was able to see a before and after picture. What a beautiful young girl. The confidence and happiness in this child's eyes in her after photo due to her amazing new hair style. The energy that was strong from her glee flowed from the text pic sent. My smile mirrored hers, I had a cheesy grin. I was so happy for her. I was so glad (that my friend not only surprised me with delicious vanilla on vanilla cupcakes, my favorite, this past Friday morning & yes I ate one at about 10:15AM or so...it was delicious and I'm sticking to it! :) ) but that I was able to share this great positive experience she gave to this young girl's life, forever. This young girl will never forget this. I can't imagine how kids, as cruel as they can be, must have teased her. My friend helped change that. I'm grateful for her. I don't know this young girl. But I am so grateful that God and the Universe placed this young girl in her path. Thank you. You know who you are, as you read this.

Doing something, anything positive for someone is such a great energy boast. Lets see how helpful we can be this up coming week.

So as the title reads, this is the Full Moon weekend. The Full Moon was on Friday. I, myself didn't smudge for this months Full Moon. Why,? I didn't have all the supplies I needed for it and I was also busy this past Friday and wouldn't have had the energy to perform a decent ceremony. But I will do the Full Moon ceremony for next month and you can be a part of it with me.

Here is another link that I found with more information.
http://astrology.about.com/od/themoon/a/FullMoonRit.htm

I will also use this as a guide for my next month's (November) Full Moon smudging ceremony. Ironically it's on a Sunday, November 17th. Which is great because it's also Sunday Smudge Day & the blog gets posted :)

I like the meaning behind smudging during a Full/New Moon ritual. This year 2013 is slowly creeping to an end. Is there anything you want to purge, to let go of, to end 2013 cleansed and free of what needs to be let go in order to begin a new, in 2014? There's a few I can think of. If you also have one or two or three things you want to let go of start to write them down. Save them until next month. Let's all begin to let go of them on the next Full Moon. And do so again the following Full Moon after (December) so we can begin the New Year with a positive state of heart, mind, body, and soul.

For me this November is extra special for three reasons. My daughter and my birthday are this month as well as Thanksgiving Day. Its a month of extra Blessings. A day we celebrate once a year to show how we are able to give a major thanks to all that we are Blessed for. I am thankful everyday, of course. I'm thankful for having the means so I'm able to cook extra of my family's favorite foods during the holiday months. I'm thankful for one year when my kids were too young to remember we had a blizzard during Thanksgiving long weekend.(Thursday-Friday) It was the bestest snow day Thanksgiving we ever had. That's the best part for me. The being with my family which consists of my two children and husband, and our cat Valentine's. Especially during that nor'easter. Snowed in with just the four, er um, five of us because of the cat. Lol. House smelled of turkey and cinnamon among other delicious smells. It was so nice. It's the coziness, that feeling that I've created for my family that I so enjoy and am thankful for. Maybe we can get a repeat of that this year. That would be awesome! We'll see.

So this year I will do~the Full Moon ritual~up a little extra special. As I figure it out I'll keep you updated in my future Sunday Zenful Blogs. :) I do know that I will continue to do what I've done in my past Full Moon smudgings but I'd like to add something new to it. This may read all rather "witchy" but there's something about smudging and then adding the Full Moon purging to the ceremony that is rather liberating. This practice helps me and mine; I harm none and only offer the release of negative energy and protection for those whom I love and care for.

And on that note....let's begin our Sunday Smudge Day Ceremony. I'll give you a moment so you can settled yourself in your happy place.
Here is my happy place this week.

Would you all like to join me here? Have a seat next to me and let's clear our minds together... Are you ready.... Deep breath...exhale that negativity from last week and or this weekend. Or whatever that may be clouding your mind.

I'd like to ask The Lord our Father as well as The Universe to be here and watch over us today as I smudge & cleanse each of those that are reading this as well as myself and my family. I'd like to also ask my ancestors to be present, as well as the elements earth, rain, wind, & fire. I'd like to call on the goddess of the north, east, south, & west. As well as our archangels Raphael for healing, Michael for protection, Gabriel for revelation & Uriel for wisdom.

Please release us all of any negative energy that does not suit or support our needs. Please Lord and Universe be here with us and help us during our time of need healing, protection, revelation, and wisdom we may be seeking.

Please let us all have a drama free and great work week. Let our kids have a wonderful week at school and or day care. Please let all issues regarding friendships, spouses, or family be resolved as they are meant to be. In a kind and peaceful manner.

Please see the sage smoke carry away all your worries and blow them away with the element wind, burn them away with the element fire, soak them away with the element water so that the element earth may ground you. Take these few minutes to visual this and clear your worries away......

Ending prayer...I'll now light sweetgrass which has a licorise kind of scent to it. Imagine the smoke of the sweetgrass wrap us all in loving and positive energy.

I'd like to thank you Lord and The Universe for giving me the opportunity to share my Zenful experience with others.

Thank you for my yesterday, for my today, and for the abundance of a wonderful week ahead. ~ Namaste~

Energy Attracts Energy. Good energy attracts good as bad energy attracts bad.

Hello and Happy Sunday my Zenful readers. How are you on this lovely breezy mid-October evening? How was your week? Did you and your friends and family have a nice weekend. Is this a long weekend for you? I have tomorrow, "Columbus" Day, off. I am grateful for the long weekend, its nearing our busy season at my job so having this extra day of rest is a welcome. I should have smudged extra now reflecting on it. This past week was busy one for me though with work and the family. And time stole away from me. I did, however smudge yesterday before my girls and my daughter's bestie came over. Once I was done as usual, that heaviness lifted. It leaves you with a feeling of having released something.

When all the girls had arrived I lit the sage again and smudged everyone. I love it because the moment I start, each of my girls stand still waiting for their turn. Its unspoken. Starting from my daughter and her friend to each of my girls and even the newest member of our circle who is not quite two years old just yet, even though she was a bit apprehensive, she also stood still as she waited. (I had her mother hold her and I wasn't too close to them as I circled them with the smoking sage) Once I was done and the sage and candles were safely turned off we all had a great visit! We hadn't gathered in a while and it was great to finally do so. There's nothing like the energy of friendship, love, funny stories, teasing, good food, sweets, prepared, cooked and baked then to be enjoyed by a group of girlfriends that have a great deal of love and respect for one another. I am truly Blessed to have had the time with them. Until the next time. (Wonder if we could do a mini Thanksgiving dinner gathering, one can only have so much turkey...hmm I'll have to check with the girls)

Were you able to spend time with friends this weekend? Did you do anything with your family? Isn't it amazing the positive feeling we get? That positive energy that surrounds you and your close friends when you get together. It's a great feeling. When you do good things it makes you feel good. When you and your friends do good things it makes you and your friends as a collective group feel good. Just as when we do bad things, we will feel bad and bad things will follow. One can't expect to "catch a break" when one complains about whatever situation one may be in without even trying to make any changes for, the positive. I've heard people say, 'I'm so unlucky and things never seem to go their way." Yes, that's because you have told the Universe that you want to be unlucky and you don't want things to go your way.

How can it be so simple? According to Rhonda Byrne, author of The Secret, her research has lead her and others to believe that in can.
Please click on the link for more of her on The Secret. http://thesecret.tv

I don't want to discuss the book in too much detail because I feel that one should read it on their own. My girlfriends and I, we have agreed that, The Secret, isn't a book that can be read and "accepted" by everyone. (Key words; it can't be accepted by everyone) I personally feel that if you read this and even think, okay, so if I say, "when I wake up in the morning I will have keys to a new car in my drive way?" No, it doesn't work that way. One can't just sit on their couch and do nothing for no one and wish away, for things and stuff. If you don't believe in it, it won't work. Just like smudging.

What have you done to help, well anyone? What are you thankful for? When was the last time you said please? I find that as I have gotten older no one really says those two simple words. Please and thank you. People expect things and or no one says thank you for stuff any more. Its really sad? I commute everyday to and from work and its interesting to me that people aren't as nice to each other as they can or even should be. I know we all have our days and or we may wake up on the "wrong side of the bed", but as Rhonda's book says, if we could change our mind set, our beginning crappy day can turn into a positive and great one. It's up to us. We do have the power. If we choose to use it, that is up to us.

I would like to take these few Sundays and highlight a few of the entries of The Secret, that popped out for me. Last week, I took a picture of a page from the book that read. "Like Attracts Like." This is deffinelty one entry that popped out for me and is so true. As I mentioned before if you say you are going to be late or you are afraid you're going to be late or feel you will be, then yup, you will be late! SO DON'T even think it!!! And you won't be.

Another entry that popped into my head was, Bob Protoctor, is quoted in the book saying, "If you see it in your mind, you're going to hold it in your hand."  What does this mean to me. I will tell you. Keep in mind, this also goes into 1. Ask. 2. Believe. 3. Receive.; As you have already read, I am a pretty private person. It is difficult for me to let anyone into my Zenful circle. But once you're in my circle, I can pretty much guarantee that you will feel my silly great positive energy. So having mentioned that, I don't have many friends because I don't want to be around anyone else's negative energy! I am very picky at who I choose to keep near. But at the same time, I know that there are some genuine people out there, that I should be around. I know that I will be surrounded by awesomeness of positive people. I can now say that I have a close net of friends that I have known for ten plus years and I can now say they are my family. And ironically, since I have started this Blog, not just 4 weeks ago today. I have a small group of friends (TWDG), from all over the world and we have even said and agree that we may have known each other in another life. I so feel this to be true because I feel the same way with the my girls(friends). And we too, have said the same thing to each other. I can't thank the Universe enough for the great energy I am now surrounded by. I am very fortunate.

To even take it a step further for me. At work. I go in do my job and thats it. I am not one to be friends with the people that I work with. Work can be so high school at times and I just don't want that negative energy. And out of all the jobs I have had, I was Blessed to have three people that I can say are my friends. One, Mari (yup, put you on blast!) We worked together and clicked right way, this was nearly 13 years ago. I also have another old co-worker that no longer works in the department I work in but we still keep in touch. And, I have another friend, she is as real as it gets, considering her background. I can't mention too much about who she is except that if I have a headache and I am out of my stash, she is there for me to dope me up! lol. I can mentioned something silly like, I so could eat a cupcake (I have serious cupcakes issues, I just love them! Vanilla on vanilla, mmmm) And there's been time this persons has surprised me with a cupcake. We check on each other to ensure we are okay. (work can be stressful) Again, Thank you UNIVERSE FOR guiding these people into my life! I have these people in my life because this is what I have wanted. A group of people to laugh and have each others back, whether its for ibuprofren, a laugh, a shoulder, or words of encourgement. My few other friends whom do no live near my but in other states. I am also grateful for. I love you all dearly. So yes I feel that the secret does work. But it does take work in order for us to get what it is we want. If you feel you are ready and want to make a positive change. I suggest you read this book. I did, I asked, I believed, and I have received! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! What are you thankful for? I will end this blog with, I am thankful for each and everyone of you taking the time to read this. Lets begin our Smudge Prayer.

Get in to your zenful please..........

I'll begin with an opening prayer that I always use:

I'd like to ask The Lord, our Father, to be with us today on this rainy Sunday Eve of the week ahead. I also like to ask my ancestors as well as yours to be with us today and the elements; water, earth, wind, & fire to be here; I also like to ask that the Goddess of the North, East, South, and West be here; I will finally ask that our Archangels to be here as well, Uriel's for wisdom, Raphael for healing, Michael for protection, & Gabriel for revelation.

I ask that all that look over us please be present during this time, to cleanse those that are in need of smudging, whether it's to remove any negative energy, seek clarity, or just wish to smudge to be thankful for the last week as well as give thanks to the week that's approaching us.

Please Bless us Lord during this time and continue to surrounded us with love, positive energy. strength & clarity. I banish any negativity that may surround us. Let Only peace, love, & positive energy enter our aura.

Now for the closing prayer:
I'd like to thank The Lord our Father for being here with us today. I also want to thank my ancestors as well as yours; I'd like to thank the elements: water, earth, wind, & fire; as well as the Goddess of the North, East, South, & West, & our Archangels; Uriel's for wisdom, Raphael for healing, Michael for protection, & Gabriel for revelation. Let this weekend end peaceful and let it begin with great positiveness for you and yours.
Amen.

If you have Monday off, enjoy the extra day of rest. But if you do work may the week begin with a productive and quick start into the week ahead. Until next week.

Namaste!

Almost Mid-October.

Hello my Zenful Journey blog readers and Happy Sunday to you and yours. How was your week? And how was the weekend for you? It's be a relaxing one for me, which is great! It's been raining all day and has made this Sunday so comfy and cozy relaxing. So many more leaves have fallen from the trees and their branches from the rains we have had these few days. It's nearing mid October at the end of this coming week. In a few more weeks we will all have little trick or treaters ringing our bells and knocking on our doors. It goes without saying, how the days aren't passing slowly. But I do love the smell of Autumn; cinnamon and apples and pumpkins and spices. Making homemade teas with these lovely spices, add the best Autumn spicy scents to your home and makes feeling all the more cozy.

(The spices in this bowl are canellita & cinnamon sticks (I've never seen huge cinnamon sticks this large before, I had to break them apart for a servings worth; both straight from the Dominican Republic) and the other two are mint and camomile.)

I hope those that are reading this had a positive week. I personally didn't need to smudge extra this week. For those that smudge did you feel the need to smudge more than usual this past week? How did it help you? I'd love to read how smudging has helped you and your family. Feel free to leave a comment below or send me a personal email if you prefer.

I like the meaning and knowing that as I burn the California white sage it's, cleansing, releasing, driving away (choose your own words) bad feelings or energy or spirits even. It does help me in knowing that the smoke wraps around that negative, whatever it is, and lifts it away. Of course as I've mentioned before. One needs to believe in it in order for this to work. You can incorporate smudging with yoga and or meditation as well. It can add great cleansing energy to any gathering, meditation, cleansing or healing ceremonies.

As I've said in my first blog I like to smudge before a gathering. Just to ensure my home will be cleansed and protected from any bad vibes and also so those that enter my home come in with positive intent and good energy. When I smudge my girls (my best friends), I individually smudge them (& myself) as they walk into my home or I have smudged us in a group before we begin our girl talk, eating and lushing. My girls have always said that my home feels very homie, comfy. I take great care in ensuring that it feels just that way. I am not one to have a busy home. I am not one to always entertain, but when I do, (that just read like a XX beer commercial didn't it? Ha!!) I want to make sure while you visit you are feeling loved, cared for, are well fed, and protected. So when you leave its with great comfort, happiness, a full belly, and if you are over 21, a bit lushed lol (always ensuring their husbands or fathers pick them up if things get too crazy. Safety First!)

I am a very private person and am sharing my zenful journey with you all because I feel that since it has helped my family, friends, and myself it may also help someone else. When I smudge in my girl's group setting, I either have my colored candles lit or I don't use the candles at all. (if you do this you can choose to use candles or not it's totally up to you!) Usually say words in my mind such as:
"Lord let my friends feel loved and safe while in my home as we eat an abundance of wonderful food and yummy desserts and drink and enjoy our company and when it's time for them to leave may they all get home safely and wake up hangover free!"

Another time I smudged that actually gave me an, "I can't believe it," feeling. But I new to believe what I experienced. My 9 year old daughter had asthma since she was in Kindergarden. She didn't have chronic asthma where she was using her inhaler every few hours. Her asthma would kick in only when she'd get a cold. From the time she was about 5 until she was about 7 years old she would suffer with her breathing and need to use the nebulizer machine when she had a cold. The last time she needed the nebulizer after I used the machine, I laid her down on her bed and placed a few gemstones on her chest area, (I'll get into gemstones another time) and smudge Aryana beginning over her little girl crown chakra and all chakras in between, flowing to her root chakras as I smudged. Ary laid there for me. I asked her to breathe as normal as she could, considering how she was feeling. I prayed and asked God and the Universe to please give Aryana relief from her asthma. That when she would get the sniffles it didn't turn into her getting any worse and wouldn't need her nebulizer. Knowing that the sage smoke shouldn't be any wear near her face I flowed the sage wand above her body. Her window was open as well, blowing the smoke and negative energy from her asthma out. Once I finished and Ary continued to rest, its fair to say, that was the last time she has ever needed to use the nebulizer machine until today. Yes she gets sick. Yes, she gets her sfuffy noses, fevers every so often, sore throats, allergies, as kids do, but she has had no major asthma illness. She still has her asthma "pump" with spacer, and may use it maybe a handful of time throughout the school year. She says at times when she runs around a lot in school, out at recess or during gym she looses her breathe so the nurse does give her the pump via spacer. She has never needed to actually inhale straight from the inhaler itself. The Drs did say she may grow out of having asthma. Friends of mine have said the same. Maybe this is what is happening to her. Either way. I do believe my praying and smudging her with the use of the stones helped her; since then until now when she does get sick, its never an asthma sick, like it was before that afternoon I smudged her a few years ago. Amen to that!

Another time when I have smudged, is durning the New Moon & Full Moon. I have never followed any of these rituals until I started smudging so I am learning as I go. Below is a link that I use and have followed their directions. Again I don't smudge every new and full moon. I do only if it's needed. When I smudged during a new moon I always right down what new things I want to see happen or something I may want to add into my life. I check again the following month on the New Moon to see if I accomplished what I had written I wanted to do. For the Full Moon one would smudge to take away something you want to get rid of or need to change. If you click the link below you will find more detailed information on the New Moon and Full Moon.
http://healing.about.com/cs/spirituality/a/moonrituals.htm

I also smudge during every new solstice: fall, winter, spring and summer. This I do without fail. After speaking with my earth sister and mentor Amy. She had explained to me which I totally understood is that we should be thankful and smudge for the season that we just had and welcome the new season that's begun. For me I see it deeper now. I feel that it does once more have to do with smudging. Because I now take these ten minutes or so and smudge and as I do I appreciate all the energy we have around us more.
Things which are taken for granted on a daily basis. How each season is important to our survival. Why?! Springs and Summers Mr. Sun is at it's highest in the sky and he's out longer. Warming and bronzing our skins (wear sunscreen!). Shining it's bright light energy onto the fruits and vegetable, and herbs we grow and eventually harvest in the fall. The earth (an element) that needs water (an element) to quench the soils so that the roots of each item taking root can continue to grow. When the wind (an element) blows it may blow seeds from a flowering herb, veggie or fruit onto another area of ones garden or towards a neighbors yard and the following season a start of a new herb, veggie, fruit will be visible. Now that's magical. I've seen it happen in the garden I share with my lovely neighbor. Somehow extra herbs grew a few rows away from where nothing was planted. :)
Finally fire (an element) is used to heat and cook so we may eat what was grown and harvested. We should take a few minutes to really see that and appreciate it. There's definitely something to be said about growing your own tomatoes, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, strawberries, peppers, a whole lot of herbs for cooking and making homemade teas with.
This last summer I had the privilege to help tend to a garden that I am very thankful to my neighbor for. Since I knew nothing of gardening, she showed me a great deal. I'd soon realize how I enjoyed it right away.

I thank the elements all the time for giving me the herbs and veggies that as I type these words I am still using. Tomatoes are still growing, and herbs as well. I just took a cucumber from its patch last week. My son's favorite. He ate it of course. :) The kids even say how they would rather eat the veggies from our garden than the store bought kind. If kids can tell the difference then you need to listen to them on that.
So spring where the earth begins to defrost from its cold winters slumber. Then the warmth, and more often than not, blazing summer sun helps our gardens grow and as Summer turns to Autumn the sun isn't at it's strongest and begins its shift for the winter season. During the fall we harvest all our wonderful garden items before the earth once more freezes the ground and with the cold that comes with living in New England ends any chance of gardening. But the abundance of what was harvested, we now have been blessed with, and will have for the long winter months. A lot of herbs for cooking comfort foods and teas for the cold days and evenings. So this is why I smudge during the four seasons. As a thank you for giving us each season saying goodbye to that season as well as any negative energy that may have happened during that time.

For me these are the times I smudge, for my own personal use. Sometimes my friends may ask me to smudge them. And I'm always honored that they ask me too and of course I set up a time to smudge them. I feel it's important to our energy to be as free from drama and any negative influences as much as possible. Yes, if we need to vent about something by all means vent. Let it out! But once you have. Let it go. Because if you don't let it go this negative thing/energy will always be around you. It's not worth it! Say what may bother you so it's not to build up inside you and keep it moving.

In last weeks ending I mentioned the few words from the book, The Secret from Rhonda Bryne. "Like Attracts Like" read below.

I will discuss this book more next week which I've read and seen the movie a few years ago. I will say, that after having read it, it isn't an easy task for me to follow. Just because I had always been surrounded by negative BS since my childhood. I've been use to thinking a certain way for so many years that now with the help of smudging and my letting go of negative energy, I need to switch my thinking and get out of the habits of bringing anything negative onto me or my family. Just by my thinking and how I phrase words. I will end this so as not to give too much away.
Before I read The Secret book I would be late for the bus to get to work all the time. I would literally, almost chant as I was rushing to get ready. "I'm going to miss the bus!, I'm going to miss the bus!" And I'd miss the bus without fail. Then I read the book. I changed my words from I'm going to miss the bus, to "I WILL make the bus!' I stopped thinking I'd miss the bus. I just wouldn't allow my thoughts to even entertain the idea of my possibly missing the bus. And from then on. I never missed the bus. lol.
It's not easy for me to practice because I can now admit that I feel dumbfounded at the fact I can will myself, a small two bedroom cottage with a woman cave, like home facing a woodsy area with a small garden, off a small chef style kitchen, oh did I mention it would be fenced in and Valentine would love sleeping on the warm grass on sunny spring and summer days or sit next to a warm wood burning, stoned fireplace in the heart of winter. The Universe is going to hook a girl up for my birthday! ;) "Ask, Believe, Receive!" Next week.

Now let's end this blog with a Sunday Smudge Day Ceremony. I'll give you a few moments to gather yourself in your comfy happy place and position as you drink water and are feeling Zenful....................

Do you have any Zenful sounds on to help you on our cleansing-smudging journey? Have you had your water? And are your thoughts gathered and ready to be released? Or have you cleared your mind so you can ask for clarity? Or maybe you are just wanting to thank God and the Universe for a good last week and to help bring you a wonderful and positive new week ahead...?...

For me I want to smudge and say, thank you and goodbye, to last week. And be thankful that I didn't let any "work BS" breach my Zenful bubble. For me I am smudging to protect my children while they are both away from home in school or with friends and to also protect myself and our health. Protection for the job I'm Blessed to be employed to, that I will stay employed to, and even move departments and get promoted 445!. I am thankful that my kids and I are healthy and they are both in a good school system. I will take this moment to appreciate all I have and am given on a daily basis. Thank you God and Thank you Universe!!

If you're releasing negative energy or seeking clarity. See the smoke helping you release this negative energy or helping you get that clarity. Take a few deep breathes. (As many as you like) Release all that negativity as you exhale each time.

Amen.

I wish you all a wonderful positive week. I have a girls night coming up and my daughter has a sleepover that I know she'll be excited for this weekend. I hope you have something fun coming up that you're excited for. Until next week. Enjoy this week and embrace the long weekend approaching!

Namaste!

Awilda.
